Helen Barnatny is an Orthodox Christian and lifelong advocate for animals. A vegan/vegetarian since 1972, she believes that caring for all of God’s creatures is a natural expression of Christian love, mercy, and stewardship.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Russian from the University of Maryland and is a retired educator. Inspired by her Orthodox faith and the example of her grandfather, a Russian Orthodox priest martyred during the Soviet era, Helen is grateful to support the mission of Pan-Orthodox Concern for Animals in encouraging compassion for all creation.
